Guys aren’t complicated. Really, they are quite simple. No offense intended to any guys reading this article. Simple doesn’t mean a lack of depth, or that they are in some way boring; it simply means that their tastes and interests are quite straightforward.
If you are trying to figure out how to understand what attracts a guy, or how to keep your man attracted to you, it would be beneficial to know what guys look for in a girl. What is it that makes them sit up and pay attention…and drool? Do you know how to understand the male mind? Really, it’s pretty…well…simple. Here is what you need to know.
Don’t Take Your Cue From the Entertainment Industry.
Look, sex sells. Everyone knows that. Although there are indications that the population is starting to rebel against sex being shoved down their throats (so to speak) at the box office and on prime time television.
The point is that you should never take your cues on what attracts men from people who make a living at presenting fiction. Television and movie producers are masters of the unreal. Actors are just that: actors.
The bad news is that most women will never be able to attain to the “standard” of beauty found on the screen. The good news is, your guy, and most guys, don’t expect you to. Beauty is important, but it has its limits.

No one has yet made a movie by that title, but it is pretty important to figure it out if you want to attract the right kind of guy. I have seen guys who were attracted to all sizes and shapes of women. Some of those women had large bust lines, while some were much less well endowed. Some had long legs and others short. Some were “full-figured” and others looked like the proverbial “bean pole.”
Guys care about looks. They do. They just care about other things more. Things like:
- A girl that is real. A guy likes a girl that will be the same the next morning as she was at the party last night. They don’t want a Cinderella. They want a real girl.
- A girl that gets him. You know; a girl that understands who he is. She shows a real interest in knowing who he is and what he does.
- A girl that respects herself. Trust me; a girl that is just out of easy reach is insanely attractive. If you project “cheap” then that is a turn off to most decent guys. Have some self-respect. Make him work for it, but let him know you the prize will be worth the effort.
There are other things, of course, but those are the basics. Remember that guys are driven and attracted by a conquest. They want to strive, struggle and ultimately succeed. If you give him that challenge he will go for it, and he will love you for it.
